Chronology of cameras Houghton
The Houghton-Butcher Ensign Focal Plane Rollfilm Reflex (Telephoto) is basically the same camera of the non-telephoto model, but constitutes a model by itself, as described in McKeown. The main difference is that it was supplied in a set including two lenses: the regular Aldis-Butcher Uno Anastigmat of 4.25" of focal length and f4.5, plus a Dallmeyer Popular Telephoto of 9" of focal length and f6.5.
The camera is designed for 8 exposures of 6x9 on 120 film. The 3-roller type focal plane shutter delivers speeds in the range 1/25 to 1/500 plus T.
The Ensign Focal Plane Rollfilm Reflex was produced between circa 1929 and 1936, and the Telephoto version around 1930.
